Or if you have taken it how long dose it take before it leaves your system completely ,because i tried to quit but the buzz is really strong what could i do to stop it completely?
I dont want to take these pills for the rest of my life.
Susan J replied: "these medicines require you to be weaned from them slowly he should lower your dose on a weekly basis until your off the medication if this is done to quickly your symptoms will return and become worse than before to get out of your system it will take about a month"
jackie replied: "I was on sertraline (generic version of zoloft) for about three months and in that time, I gained twenty plus pounds. I was on 50 mg. and I just stopped. I was more depressed by gaining all that weight then I was in the first place. It took me about seven months to lose that weight. I will never take that stuff again. Now I dont take anything but Im contemplating taking wellbutrin because its weight neutral.
Hope I helped. Good luck. I wish you the very best."
there is a connection with taking Amitriptyline HCL 25mg at night and heart disorder? take this medicine for 2 years the dose 25 mg at bed time
RMR278 replied: "I used to take elavil for 3 years (20mg), it can reduce bp, it can cause heart palpatations (I am guessing if elavil slows the heart rate to slow at night the body releases adrenalin to stimulate the heart that is why you can get those palpatitions or find yourself a little nervous,if a person takes enough of the elavil (which is amitriptlylin) it can stop the heart or cause heart failure. some people have used elavil in this way to commit suicide.
I stopped taking it because it made me sleepy during the day and reduced my capacity to work, tho I did sleep very well at night (which I had a problem with due to frequent urinations, nervousness and pain)
so now I still have sleeping problems, my bp is treated so I am not as nervous as I used to be, my insides feel calmer, I still have frequent awakenings at night.
now as for a heart disorder you would have to be more specific what you mean. there are many kinds which do you refer to?
RRRR"

jgc rn replied: "Your doctor will wean you slowly over several weeks. Also, you may need to take them for the rest of your life. Keep in mind that this is only a trial stop. I hope you don't need them. But if so, don't worry about it. You are more normal than you think. I know many healthcare workers, including doctors, who take them and similar meds."

Don't just stop - talk to your doc."
