Caffeine lowers lithium levels right, so without caffeine serotonin should be increased? low serotonin increased appetite
high serotonin decreased appetite
mood and sleep should be better without caffeine
does lithium and caffeine together cause the weight gain
do the lithium monographs tell you how to lose weight with lithium by telling you to drink lots of water and getting off caffeine
caffeine forces lithium serotonin levels to be low
the_only_solorose replied: "you have it backwards, caffiene causes the re-uptake of lithium, so much so that you can become toxic with lithium if you drink coffee."

What is the structure formed when you add HCl to Caffeine? I am working on a lab and need to know what the intermediate structure (the one formed by adding HCl to Caffeine) in caffeine isolation is. This step makes the Caffeine water soluble. If anyone could help me figure out how to write this structure it would be great!

What is the difference between the caffeine/stimulant effect of chocolate vs. coffee vs. tea? They all affect me differently. I read a previous response to a similar question and to save time - it is not as simple as caffeine is caffeine and they're not the same thing. If they were, they would all affect me in the same way. Thanks for any insights....
msjantastic replied: "Depends on the type of each your speaking of. White tea does not have as much caffeine in it as black. Same goes with coffee and chocolate as well. You will have to be give more detail for a correct answer. I can tell you that a cup of regular coffee compared to a cup of black tea has 10 times the amount caffeine in it."
Miki replied: "The amount of caffeine and the strength.
Chocolate only has a very small amount of caffeine in it.
Tea depending on the strength has more but with milk it is diluted and is weakened.
Coffee is the strongest but I stilll depends with milk"
sunshine replied: "chocolates are destressing and relaxing, where as caffeine is a stimulant and can cause insomnia"
What is used to replace caffeine in 'Caffeine Free Diet Coke'? Hey there,
Doing a science project at school and was wondering what is used in place of caffeine in caffeine free soft drinks - primarily Coke.
Thanks a lot.
Noah replied: "Nothing. There is no stimulant in Diet Coke. And Caffeine is not part of the flavor profile, so it isn't needed to make it taste the same."
Vikki Dreams replied: "Nothing. They just leave the caffeine out"
wambo replied: "nothing they just dont add any"
About how many people drink caffeine in the word? Also how long will it take to be addicted to caffeine, which caffeine drink has the most caffeine, and can caffeine kill you in how long? It'll be good to know
GIANT replied: "caffein is good for healty if a few used"
crazzykid93 replied: ""Global consumption has been estimated to be 120,000 tonnes per annum. This is the approximate equivalent of one caffeine-containing beverage per day for each of the planet's 5 billion plus inhabitants.
Caffeine is not addictive as experts in the scientific community define the term. In the most recent version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the authoritative text of the American Psychiatric Association, caffeine is specifically excluded from the category of substances classified as causing 'substance dependence.'""
bobbert1_m replied: "It took me a while to become addicted to caffeine, and it can kill you.
Here's a cool link to see how much for you personally."
Curious replied: "I don't know how many, but I do know it is linked to bladder cancer. It's effect varies person to person.
However Adventists and Mormons who don't use caffeine tend to live longer than the general population."
Can caffeine enhance melatonin's effects? And how much melatonin is a good easy dose? Melatonin is a hormone that can be harmlessly taken in those over the counter synthetic pills, you get what it is.. it helps you sleep!
I heard from a friend that if you first take a few miligrams of melatonin (If I'm having a hard time sleeping I'll take 1-2 miligrams, but sometimes I'll take 4), and then drink some caffeine, the caffeine enhances the melatonin's ability to make you sleepy.
Does anyone know if this is true? I don't take it very often, but when I do take it, is 3-4 mgs detrimental to my health?
WIDOWMAKER54 replied: "Can caffeine enhance melatonin's effects, i doubt it they do opposite things. caffeine stimulates, melatonin makes you sleep"
L.Y.M. replied: "no, i take 4 mgs sometimes. I sleep like a baby.
I have beeen taking melatonin for three years, but I don't drink coffee."
Can I treat Adrenal Fatigue but still be a caffeine addict? After a few years of foolish habits (drug abuse, then alcohol addiction--now sober from booze 6 months; drugs stopped 2 years ago) it seems my ongoing health problem is related to Adrenal Fatigue. It is likely that all the drugs (it was REALLY bad for a while) exhausted my adrenal gland, and now I'm left with this god-awful condition.
I am faced with Chronic Fatigue symptoms, brain fog, mental confusion, slight weakness, lack of motivation, etc. Exercise helps but does NOT cure these problems.
I'm too lazy to adjust my diet (an average diet, a decent balance of grains, vegetables, and proteins) if it needs fixing. But I am also VERY, VERY unwilling to break my addiction to caffeine. Without caffeine I am left in a constantly underaroused state due to preexisting factors--severe ADD. Everything is boring. I need my "daily fix" of stimulation or I'm just slow and dreamy, and I can't focus.
Is there ANY way to treat Adrenal Fatigue without giving up my caffeine addiction?
Dionannan replied: "Congratulations on Kicking the drugs and alcohol !!!!
I used vitamin B complex - co enzyme A - L-Tyrosine - vitamin C - in addition to my multi-vitamins and minerals.
Check your resources of Health Stores (GNC is ok)
Look up Adrenal Disorders in the book---
Prescription for Nutritional Healing.
There are a lot of recommendations there.
Good Luck"
steph replied: "Go get acupuncture, you won't be sorry!!!!!"
zaggittier replied: "Zing from HCBL in Florida,it's a supplement with gingko, gotu cola, bee pollen and ginseng. It's really good when you are groggy or down.
Plus a regular vitamin like one a day,not a mega dose or stress dose except b-6 is good for nerves up to 50 mgs."
