I have got the infos, thanks. Anyway, my battery pack is Canon Lithium NB-4L. How can I check its status? I think everyone also prefer that cameras have battery status indicator, because we may not know how long that the camera's still be working. So I really looking forward to hear from you all!

KenL replied: "Buy a cheap volt meter at Radio Shack or other electronic store and check the voltage yourself."

CANON G10 LITHIUM VS LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PACKS? I ordered a canon powershot g10 and just realized i got a lithium battery pack NOT a lithium-ion battery pack. I have heard lithium-ion lasts much longer. However it says I could buy a 2 - 5 hour extended life battery for the lithium battery. Should I cancel the order and buy a pack with lithium-ion? Or just buy one of the extended life batteries?

Aneko replied: "???it sounds like your talking about Canon the song, and lithium the song. i'm sorry im not help."

Elvis replied: "just get the battery try amazon.com for a good price"

Can I use disposable lithium batteries in a Canon Powershot A540 or A700 digital camera? I am interested in buying a Canon Powershot A540 or A700 particularly because they take AA batteries. The official specifications note the they can use standard alkaline and NiMH batteries but I am particularly interested in using disposable lithium batteries (not rechargable ones). Will these models work with AA disposable lithiums without damaging the units?

omair replied: "Yes they work with any AA size battery. Only life span of battery matters that is why they recommend to use rechargeable ones."

answer101 replied: "yes- if the camera takes AA then you can use any AA batteries"

Parag B replied: "AA disposable batteries should work, but life is important. With current technology, NiMH rechargeable batteries give best life only next to Li-ion rechargeable batteries. Using disposable batteries with digital camera would be repentable, if camera stops and important picture is missed!"

stan l replied: "sure you can."

blOsSom replied: "It should. I have a Canon Powershot A540 but I use rechargable batteries. Using the disposable batteries don't give you much life for the camera. I recommend you use rechargable alkaline. P.S. I bought my camera in April and it came with AA batteries. They weren't rechargeable but they worked for 4 days. Hope this helps :)"

saz o replied: "yes u can , but they are very costly, i reccomend you buy some high capacity rechargeable batteries, go on ebay and type in 2700mah, you will see a vast quantity of different brands, they are all ultra high quality and it doesn't matter on the brand, i also reccomend u type in to ebay sprint 15, that is a 15min charger and is cheap on ebay but expensive everywhere else, that should give you a good power supply"

Charmingdale replied: "sure"

Can I use lithium batteries in my canon A570 IS digital camera? My manual doesn't mention them. I bought them and then I looked at the manual. Should I take them back?

Elvis replied: "they will do fine. rechargeables are the best !"

Is 3.7V 1120mAh Lithium-Ion battery better than a 3.7V 800mAh Lithium-Ion battery? I'm trying to purchase a camera combo from a site but the combo will replace the original canon battery (1120mAh Lithium-Ion battery) with a generic battery (800mAh Lithium-Ion battery) as an upgrade. The lower the mAh the better? That's my confusion, NewEgg.com replaces the one battery with the other. Doesn't make any sense to me.

cheeze_avenger replied: "You want a low mAh number, that means it's the best."

Q replied: "No the higher the mAh the better, holds the charge longer."

Petra_au replied: "Q is right...the higher the number, the larger capacity the battery is. Stick with the Canon battery."

ngufra replied: "the mAh number is the capacity of the battery. a larger number will let you operate the camera for longer between charges. P=U.I (power =voltage * amperage) so for one battery: P= 3.7 * 1.120= 4.144Wh for the other: P= 3.7 * 0.8=2.96 Wh so if the camera were to use 1 Wh, with one battery it would last over 4 hours, with the other a little less than 3. usually the combos ADD a spare battery, they don't replace it. However if the price is right, you can get another battery and two 800 mAh battery will be better than one 1.12Ah battery. You can charge one while you use the other so you always have one ready."

I'm getting a canon 400d, and i see it needs a Lithium ion rechargeable battery,do i need a battery charger? Well, i see what kind of battery it needs, but do i need to check if it comes with that battery, and do i need a battery charger?

fhotoace replied: "If you are not tempted into buying the 400D over the Internet at prices 20% lower than the msrp, then the battery, battery charger, all the cables and Canon CD's come in the box. It is only grey market cameras that have the OEM components stripped from them and replaced by inferior products"

what is better for my canon sx10 is alkaline or lithium batteries? I haven't got the camera yet its arriving saturday, also what is the difference between alkaline and lithium batteries?

photou2 replied: "LITHIUM"

i see you lying next to me replied: "lithium is better for all digital cameras. they last much longer. they give out a greater voltage for a longer period of time."

Elvis replied: "rechargeables 2700 or higher"

Petra_au replied: "The SX10 IS comes supplied with 4 alkaline batteries. These will allow you to shoot up to 340 images. When the batteries drain, you throw them away and need to buy new ones. A better type of battery to use are rechargeable NiMH batteries (and a charger). This type of battery allows you to shoot up to 600 images (when using 2500mAh capacity). Buying a higher capacity will allow you to shoot even more images. When they drain, you just recharge and re-use them, making them much more cost effective and better for the environment because they don't end up in land fill. You can buy non rechargeable Lithium batteries which do provide lots of power, but they're expensive, so you wouldn't want to use them on a regular basis. And, seeing as the SX10 IS has excellent battery life when using rechargeable NiMH batteries, buying these expensive batteries isn't really necessary. But, they're great to use if you have no access to power to recharge your NiMH batteries."

Can I bring a lithium-ion battery for my camera in my carry-on luggage? I have two lithium-ion batteries for my Canon digital camera, and I'd like to take both with me on vacation. Can I take both, either in my carry-on or checked luggage?

Teach replied: "I've taken mine in my hand luggage every time I've travelled, where are you flying from? Best idea would be to go onto that airport's website and have a look at their 'Baggage Restrictions' section - hope that helps!"

Charlie replied: "Sure, there is no prohibition against batteries of any kind."

Maybe??? replied: "This type of battery this small is not a problem, and you can carry them on the plane with you. If they won't allow them in your carry-on, just put them in your checked luggage. Put one of the batteries into your camera, and keep the other in its original sealed package."

Happy Feet replied: "Only in your to checked luggage not in your carry-on. Have a nice flight. Happy Feet"

tonalc1 replied: "Actually, if they're loose they REQUIRE that you keep them in your carry on bag. Effective January 1, 2008, the Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will no longer allow loose lithium batteries in checked baggage."

How do I charge my canon powershot sd400 battery without a battery charger? The battery is a lithium battery pack nb-4L and I can't find a replacement charger. If you know where to find one, that would be helpful also.

HELPP replied: "umm i dont know any other ways. did u try googleing it can ask where can i find a replacement charger?"

fhotoace replied: "Are you saying that Canon no longer produces chargers for that battery? The SD 400 is over 3 years old ... you may want to consider buying a new camera if Canon has discontinued the NB-4L charger. What happened to yours? Did it just stop working?"

The Canon Rebel K2 runs on two CR2 3-Volt lithium batteries, but BP-220 Battery Pack converts camera to "AA"? How does this work?

What? replied: "You put 4xAA batteries into the BP-220 battery pack (it doubles as a vertical grip w/ extra shutter release button) and the battery pack plugs into the K2. You'd have to remove the battery compartment cover so that the BP-220 can be inserted and installed on the bottom of the camera."

truenorth675 replied: "There are two different inserts that slide into the battery grip. One holds the lithium batteries and the other holds the AA's."
