Can clomid cause a yeast infection? I know yeast infections are common in pregnant women(hopefully this is what is happening in my case) My Doc appt isn't until jul 12. Just wondering if this can be caused by taking clomid.

Cheesy replied: "No, it is not caused by Clomid."

Passing Through replied: "I saw the other person's response that read No and I disagree. This is my third try with Clomid (not consecutively) and I have a yeast infection AGAIN. This is the second or third time that this has happened to me. So, whether it's recognized or not, it seems to happen to me as well. ALSO, I've seen that a lot of medical professionals are saying that yeast infection treatments (creams, diflucan, etc.) do not interfer with conception, what they fail to elaborate on is the condition of the vaginal mucus DOES. Sperm does not do well in a highly acidic or "thick" environment. They need to swim in a thin clear mucus. So, in my UNprofessional opinion from all that I have read, I think yes, the Clomid is effecting your vaginal mucus (maybe through drastic or quick changes in your homones and your body is trying to balance that out and creating too much yeast...i dunno) So, I believe (again, I've never seen a doctor agree with this theory) that yes, Clomid can indirectly cause a yeast infection. I do know for a fact that because of the same reason listed above (horomones) it is not unusual for a pregnant woman to have a yeast infection. However, I would not say that it is a symptom or common. It kind of just happens sometimes."

Yeast Infection: Clomid or pregnant? Ok! I am going to try to describe my situation the best that I can.... I took clomid January 20th-24th. It is not March 8th and still no period. I have not taken a pregnancy test, because I wanted to wait longer, rather than taking one and seeing a negative and making myself upset. However, about three days ago I began having pain around my vaginal opening and my cervix seems to be swollen and I have thick heavy discharge. I believe I have a yeast infection. The thing that I am wondering is could clomid have caused this or could I be pregnant? To add a bit more info: -First cycle of clomid was taken in January, haven't started second cycle, because no period thus far. -I have NEVER had a yeast infection before. Thanks all!!!

What are all the reason a female will continue to have yeast infections? OK I'm a 24 year old female and had my first yeast infection back in 2006 in the first part of my pregnancy. And during my whole pregnancy I had 1 yeast and 2 bladder infection. And then I went from the time I gave birth to my son til his first birthday, which was in November of 2007 and had another yeast infection. Then I went another year with out 1(Nov of 2008), but my doctor told me that it could be from the clomid I was taking. Then I had a BV(bacterial Vaginosis) in Dec. of 2008 which again my doctor said could have been from the clomid. Had another yeast infection in April when I was 8 weeks pregnant(lost the pregnancy at 10 weeks). And now it's July and I have another yeast infection. I take showers everyday, I clean myself off after my husband and I have sex, and I try to keep myself dry down there. What could be causing me to have so many infections back to back like this?

can i get pregnant if i have a yeast infection? im taking clomid and got a yeast infection the day after my last pill. Will this hurt my chances of conveiving this month? i have treated it with monistat one tab treatment on sat night and have to start bd on thursday? please anyone can you help me with this question!! has anyone concieved just after a yeast infection?

RMS replied: "In 2002 I got pregnant with my twins - I got an ear infection that month, and was on Amoxicillin. The antibiotic gave me a yeast infection, and I treated it with OTC meds. I still got pregnant, and with two boys! So it defintely didn't hurt my chances. Now if only it were that easy for me this time around! lol Baby Dust, and Good Luck."

Laura TR replied: "From the research I have done, UTI's and YI's cannot prevent you from getting pregnant, but they don't make things any easier! YI's change the consistency of your C.M., so it may be harder for you to predict ovulation."

rr c replied: "Trying to conceive while having yeast infection is possible, but the chances are smaller than without having a yeast infection. This is due to changing the level of pH in you vagina which can make it difficult for the sperm to go up in the womb."

I am 6do w/ a horrible yeast infection is this a result of clomid, or could this be a good sign of early preg? nancy

blue replied: "My friend says each time she conceived, she got thrush (she has been pregnant 4 times). Could be a sign, but then again it's common for women to get yeast infections so I wouldn't rely on it as a symptom. Good luck, I hope you get a BFP! xxx"

pookiesmom replied: "You can get a yeast infection while you are pregnant if that's what you are asking but it's not nessecarily a symptom of being pregnant."

This question is for women who have taken clomid.? The 1st day of my cycle was June 22nd. I took clomid on days 5-9. On Juy 4th I ovulated. Since then I've had twinge paind on my lower left side, some minimal spotting and as of yesterday a yeast infection. Can these symptoms be from the clomid? I know yeast infections are very common in pregnant women but could one occur as early as D17 of cycle?? My D21 blood test is this week and until then I am just trying to get as much info as possible. I would appreciate any responses from women who have conceived or have taken clomid. Yes D21 is for a progesterone check but my main question is can clomid cause a yeast infection? I'm hoping it is due to pregnancy! :)

snoopychick78 replied: "Is your day 21 blood test a progesterone check? The slight bleeding can be caused by ovulation. If you produced more than 1 follicle or maybe even had HCG shot to mature follicles and induce ovulation then its possible you did not ovulate all your follicles at once. some women do experience ovulation or "breakthrough bleeding" whether on Clomid or not. Since the Clomid probably stimulated you to produce more and potentially larger follicle than usual this breakthrough bleeding maybe the result. As long as it is spotting and not full fledged bleeding you are ok. Today being the 4th day since you began ovulation, I would call the Dr and just give them the heads up if this spotting continues passed tomorrow. Good Luck on your day 21 &28 blood tests. Baby Dust."

tylw85 replied: "My first Clomid cycle was the 7th of June to the 11th of June, days 5 - 9. I conceived my first pregnancy because of it. I'm 5 weeks 2 days and the only thing I noticed was discharge, no yeast infection but a lot of discharge, some of it slightly thick but almost all of it clear. Good Luck for you, it worked for me the first time around, now instead of worrying about getting pregnant now I just worry about everything that can go wrong with being pregnant."

Another question about clomid.? Does Clomid cause yeast infections? I'm 30 yrs old and have only had 2! I know that's amazing, but it's true. Anyway I just got off my first round of clomid like a week and a half ago and that's the only thing that I can think of that I've done differently. Thanks :) Also I'm on day 16 of my cycle and still have not ovulated. Is this normal? And will the yeast infection mess tings up?

Jessica replied: "It's not listed as a side effect anywhere. I've heard that salivia can sometimes cause yeast infections, being too clean can cause yeast infections and increase in yeast in your diet can also cause a yeast infection."

shay_na19 replied: "I never had a yeast infection from the Clomid and I took 5 rounds of it but I would ask your doctor. As for the day you ovulate... I always ovulated between day 16 and day 19 so it can still happen. I am now 24 weeks pregnant so Clomid can take a while but it can work."
