Has anyone with PCOS had success pregnancy, after taking femara, clomid or injectables after weight loss? Im just wondering if there are any cysters on here who have taken either Femara/Letrozole,Clomid or injectables that had success after a major weight loss, metformin, diet change, and exercise? Did your doctor recommend a hysterectomy after youve had your children? Do any of you cysters have HPV?
on clomid and worried.. please help? im on cycle day 12 today, its my first time on clomid because i didnt ovulate for 3 months prior to taking it this april. i have read that pregnancy loss is at a higher risk when on clomid. is there anything i can do?

jenzito replied: "hi

good luck to you"
metformin/clomid question? I was just prescribed Metformin today (I have PCOS). On the bottle it says, "take one tablet by mouth every day for 1 week, then 2 tablets every day for 1 week, then 3 tablets every day." When I get up to my two and three tablet days do I take them all at once, or should I space them out throughout the day? Has anyone had any success stories taking Metformin? Weight loss? Pregnancy? Anything? My doctor says she will put me on clomid on the 20th of this month, but she wants to see how I react to the Metformin. I start at 500mg the 1st week, 1000mg the 2nd week, and 1500mg the 3rd week on. Also any success stories with Metformin and clomid? Thanks.
Lori replied: "when you get to the 2 or 3 a day I'd space them out"
Q replied: "There are a lot of success stories out there with Metformin and PCOS. It often restores normal ovarian function. Ask your pharmacist about how to take the metformin."
Dr. J replied: "Space them out take a tablet 2 times a day, and then 3 times a day. Sorry can't help you with the other parts of the question."
merciless_megan replied: "i would say to talk to your phamacist. They should be able to tell you all you need to know about any drug you are taking. =)"

Barbara B replied: "You should take 3 at a time and with pcos and clomids its a struggle but clomids will help alot when trying to get pregnant but with clomids there is a chance to get more than one baby at a time, pcos is a realy pain in the ...... But yes clomids wil help in that apartment."
should i take clomid? I had an ectopic pregnancy resulting in the loss of one tube. i don't know which ovary i am ovulating from. but i am not getting pregnant.
waiting for baby replied: "have you discuss clomid with your doc
anyone can take clomid but the person need to know the risk
if you are ovulating that mean you may not need clomid
but also if you take clomid you might end up having other problem many people take clomid and did not get preg
so talk to your doc and see what he/she recomended
Good luck"
tammybaby67 replied: "I know exactly what you're going through. I didn't have an ectopic pregnancy but I do have damage to my left tube so if I do get pregnant from the left ovary I will have an ectopic pregnancy. Unfortunately BBT or CM charting can't help us determine which side we are ovulating on. Occassionally I get a twinge on my right side to let me know that I'm ovulating but it doesn't happen all the time and by the time I feel the twinge it's almost too late. It's like playing a game of russian roulette every month. As for Clomid, please do not even consider it unless your doctor has recommended it. You don't want to get it off the internet. It's not the type of drug that you want to mess around with. You need to be monitored while you're on it. I took Clomid for 3 months (100mg each) but did not ovulate on it. It doesn't work for everyone however it does work a lot. I take Metformin now to regulate my cycles and promote ovulation. I don't know if it's worked yet. I am on the 2 week wait. It's a nerve racking wait because I don't if or which side I ovulated from. Whatever you do don't give up hope, I know I'm not. God will let us know when it's time. I have to believe that in order to keep going. Hope this helped a little. Good luck ttc and baby dust to us both"
Thank you all for last weeks answers on 'miscarriage i think so' also being over weight on clomid.? just to let you all know i lost the baby at 6weeks after a week of bleeding, this is my second loss in 3 months and both time i have been on clomid. My inferility doc seems the think the reason i keep losing them is becoz i am over weight (by alot 3 stone or 42lbs) he seems to think my body cant deal with pregnancy and being unhealthly. (i did say there are other large ladys out there who go full term..... his answer is every one is different) any way he said i should try and lose 2/3stone and then start the clomid again! (the reason i am on clomid is i dont ovulate well due to my weight so i might even fall on my own without them) Any way i will have to wait till march to try again now as my husband is going to kenya at end of aug till march with the army so at least i get time to lose some weight. hope every one else has loads of luck with trying and so on.
once again thank you for everything.
sorry i should of said that my husband and i already have a 5yr son together. that was a text book pregnancy. also i have been test pcos and all neg.
i was 3 stone light when i had my son
i with i was 3 stone light SORRY MEANT TO PUT 3 STONE LIGHTER hehe
MyssiD replied: "You may not even need Clomid if you lose weight. Being overweight can affect fertility in some. I got pregnant after losing 30 pounds. I tried Clomid before losing this weight with no success."
babysisterchrissy replied: "have you been tested for PCOS? Its a common cause of ovulation troubles, and it can cause you to gain weight and make it hard to lose it too. It can also be a contrbiuting factor in multiple miscarrages. Regardless of how much weight you lose, wait a few months before you try to concieve again, 2 losses in 3 months is alot to put your body (and mind) through. When you concieve again have them start testing your progesterone levels right away, low progesterone is a big cause of early miscarrage. See a genetic specialist, there may be an incompatablilty between you and your hubby's genes. Are you seeing an OB-GYN or a Reproductive endocrinologist? a RE may be alot more helpful then an OB. good luck, and keep us posted."
Jess replied: "sorry to hear about your loss. I hope everything goes well for you in the future."
why am i feeling different on 2 nd round of clomid? I am now on 2nd round of clomid, 1st round i ovulated on day 16 but no pregnancy :( I just finished my last pill sat. I am very depressed, feel very low is it normal w/ clomid? First round i actually felt great. Now i am soo down, loss of interest and my face is breaking out, very weird! I am still on 50 mg so why am i feeling different then last time? I just want to concieve soo bad, i don't wantt o go through another round of this next month :( Has anyone gotten pregnant on round 2 of clomid? Please give me hope, i am giving up !
Wanna Be Mom replied: "Oh my goodness! You sound just like me! My first month on Clomid I was in such a good mood. I have just finished taking my 4th round and the mood swings seem to get worse each month. My doctor warned me that I could be really irritable and cranky but after the first month I thought "Wow, Clomid makes me happy, not irritable!" but the longer I take it the crazier I get! If it makes you feel better you are not alone. Clomid is not an easy drug to take. The hot flashes, the sleepless nights, the mood swings! You have to know that what you are feeling is the side effects of the drug and if the depression gets too bad you can take a month off & sort of re-group. I feel for you."
mom to an ANGEL replied: "i just finished my 3rd round of Clomid and it was awful! I talked with my dh and we decided that if we don't get pregnant this month then I will watch next month to see if I can O on my own and then no more Clomid for me. I will not take it anymore. I was so sick this time around, Good Luck to you.... You could always ask for Femara my sister had no side effects on it and was pregnant on round 2 of it. She just had her baby 3 days ago. ** Baby Dust **"
I am taking clomid, but still can't get pregnant!? I am becoming more and more discouraged. About ten months ago I miscarried at 11 weeks. I was so upset; we had tried so long to concieve that baby. That was my second pregnancy; which, the first one survived. The doctor's did an autopsy on our second baby and also examined me and then came to the conclusion that it was a chromosome problem, that is why we lost the baby. However, we tried and tried to get pregnant after this loss and were not able. Now the doctors have put me on clomid because I have PCOS. This is my second round and I am still not pregnant! In addition to the cysts, I have a fibroid; but, they say it is so small and they are not concerned. But could this be the reason for my lost baby and also the reason I am unable to get pregnant? And how do I tell my doctor to do his job? I feel like they gave me the clomid just to cover up the real problem. Along with infertility, I have cramps so bad that it simulates the pains I felt during labor with my son.
does clomid affect period length? This is my second round of clomid, I had to take a progesterone to induce a period for the first month, I have not had a period for 18mths due to weight loss but now I have regained my weight and consider myself healthy! Second month I had very light spotting after 24days and my gyno advised me to start clomid, this month my period has arrived by itself on day 24! I am happy my periods are happening themselves again though very light but do u think they will interfere with my day 21 progesterone level results since my period came! Because my body is sort of functioning itself will it increase my chances of pregnancy! does that mean i ovulated or is it simply a side effect of clomid?
jackmatt replied: "Clomid does not affect the number of days you bleed, but rather the number of days in a cycle. Clomid can be used to lengthen short luteal phases (or cycles) which would flush out a potential fertilized embryo before it had a chance to implant
OB/GYN RN & mom"
Toshia M replied: "Clomid can improve hormone levels and ovulation. If you ovulated last month, it was on or around cycle day 10 which is great. Weight can effect ovulation due to having more fat cells to store more estrogen which can lead to Estrogen Dominance. Too much estrogen causes too low of fsh so no egg develops which causes poor progesterone because the remains of the follicular sac (where the egg developed) is what produces the most progesterone. This can cause problems with your period as well. The less progesterone, the little you bleed.
Clomid can cause a bad side effect--poor lining (for the same reasons as estrogen dominance). Have you considered taking Femara instead? It has the same pregnancy rates as clomid & works similar to clomid but doesn't increase estrogen so you don't get the poor lining & will get a healthier period.
No, clomid won't effect your progesterone lab results. Just estrogen and fsh levels."
is clomid available in the Uk and would it help in my situation?? can you have clomid in the UK. I had sterilization reversal 4 years ago and have managed to carry till 12 weeks and then lose (mc) will clomid help me? I am 33 now. Periods normal ovulating but since my last loss in august last year I had to have a d&c and have not got caught since. The last 2 periods have included extremely sore breasts from a couple of days after end of my period till I start. This is unusual as since before I had my last child (10 years ago) I have only ever had sore breasts 2weeks before for a few days then it goes again. Now its agony. My last pregnancy would have been due this month in two weeks, could this be why I have noticed the differences? I have made an appointment with my gyne to see what he says as he did my reversal. Last time I saw him he said I miscarried because nature does a practice run as its been so long since my last pregnancy. Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks
also i have ovulation pain on one side usually every month. the last two months this has been very painful in both sides. i have also had very low pain in my pubic area and low back ache. worse than normal in time with the difference in my breast soreness. thanks
mommy2sam replied: "Clomid to is make you ovulate. If you are already ovulating then this wouldn't be appropriate for you. I am not sure if it is available in the UK."
M&B replied: "Yes it is available in the UK, but I would not recommend using it if you ovulate on your own. Clomid is used to help women ovulate. Speak to your doctor about your options and he or she will prescribe Clomid if they think you need it. Since you have got pregnant, then I would expect them to say you don't need it because you ovulate already."
bailezra replied: "Clomid isn't just used to stimulate ovulation. It can also be used to treat a luteal phase defect. So Clomid may be able to help, but they first need to figure out what the cause of your fertility problems is. You should talk to a fertility specialist, as they can run tests on you to find out exactly what 's going on.
Best of luck to you!"
SamB replied: "i take clomid to induce ovulation and i get it in the uk, altho i thnk it can be used for other fertility issues i would defo check with your consultant.
i do advise that you dont take this medicine unprescribed, i was left to my own devices with clomid take for 5 days cd2-6 and ended up in hospital with ovarian hyperstimulation. which can be life threatening in some cases... i was in a very serious amount of pain and had difficulty breathing.

lisa c replied: "Clomid is available in the UK but it is to make you ovulate so i dont think it would do any good , go see your doctor who will refer you to a fertility consultant"
