Has anyone ever had a bad reaction to Reglan (Metoclopramide)? How long did it last? Or do you know about reactions to Reglan: feelings of impending doom, shudders, feelings of flight, severe panic episodes... And how long do they last? Can they keep coming back?

browneyedmaiden replied: "My doctor prescribed Reglan to me when I was having the severe panic episodes and the other things you mentioned. I didn't have any reaction to the drug, however, I slept a lot. I'd suggest that if you are having these symptoms while taking it, you need to contact your doctor to have him prescribe something else. I, personally, had the same reactions that you've mentioned when he tried me on Zoloft. I also had worse symptoms with Effexor...I had a seizure while taking it. I now take Lexapro and Klonopin, and they are working very well. Good luck!"

globalmedops replied: "The side effects shouldn't last long. I've never heard of Reglan being prescribed for anxiety (usually this is listed as a side-effect), but then I don't claim to know everything. It's usually prescribed for nausea, since it causes to the stomach to empty into the small intestine more quickly, and also strengthens the lower espoph. sphincter. If you continue to have anxiety like symptoms bring this to the attention of your physician, it may be due to something else."

Restless muscle movements in my tongue and jaw from taking the medication Reglan (metoclopramide).? I'm having severe habitual muscle restlessness in my jaw and tongue that leads down to my lower neck. I've been on the medication Reglan for about 2 years. I stopped taking the medication about a month ago (not directed by my doctor) and have been getting these annoying symptoms. Is it serious? What can I do to stop the restless muscle movements in my jaw and tongue? It's interfering with my everyday comfortability.

AbeLincolnParty replied: "Sounds like you have Tardive dyskinesia (TD), the word Tardive means that the symptoms continue even though the drug has been discontinued. It might take a few months for it to stop, but sometimes it is an irreversible condition. I have not read what the latest current thinking on the cause of the TD is, but what I had read before is that some drugs, usually dopamine blockers, break down into toxic substances that build up in the brain. This is not to be confused with extrapyramidal effects that can be blocked with anticholineric or antihistamine drugs. If you have TD then I would not suggest taking any drugs to treat the condition. Maybe extra orange juice for the antioxidants might help, I don't trust store bought Vit E that is also touted for it, just fruits and vegetables. You did not say what your taking the Reglan for, its use for acid reflux has been replaced by the H2 blockers like Pepcid, or Acid Pump inhibitors like Nexium, the H2 blockers are cheaper and safer."

Where can I find Reglan(metoclopramide) very cheap? I'm trying to re-lactate, and I heard you can take Reglan to increase your supply. Does anyone know where I can find some pills for under $30? I'm aware it is a prescription. You can still buy them on the internet. I choose to buy them off the internet. I don't not have health care as of now.

Diet C replied: "Reglan is a prescription drug. The generic is generally priced at $12-$15 for 30 pills."

This mommy makes pretty babies replied: "A. prescription from your dr and a trip to the pharmacy or Mexico. i would go with choice a. No seriously I think you will have to get a prescription but they might not be very much."

Dancing Girl 1 replied: "it is mainly a GERD medication but lactation is a side effect. the online store I us does sell it at for about 30 cents a pill if that helps. I pasted the link below. you probably should check with your doctor to make sure that these pills do not have any harmful effects if pasted from you, if that is what you are trying for."

Reglan (metoclopramide) during pregnancy? Has anyone taken this for nausea? I was prescribed this last week but am hesitant to take anything (including Tylenol). I did take it twice, so far, and it seems to knock out the nausea completely. I read it was not known whether it was safe to use during pregnancy or not. My nausea isn't "that" bad. Your experience with this medications? [Almost 9 weeks pregnant with number 2.]

metoclopramide - is it safe to cut it in half? I am wondering if it is safe to cut reglan or metoclopramide in half? It is expensive and my dose has been lowered.

mlgable replied: "If the tablet is scored you can break it in half. It it is not scored then use a sharp nice to make an even slice to cut it in half or buy a cheap pill splitter at your drug store/walmart."

pamela s replied: "all pills that has a line in the middle can be cut in half. if it's doesn't then don't. ask your dr before you lower your dose. and spme pharmics will cut your pill all uou have to do is ask"

Rickydotcom replied: "Yes, Reglan or the generic metoclopramide is not a time-released product and may be safely cut or broken. Invest in a tablet cutter available at any pharmacy. It's safer than using a "safety" razor. Be well. Rick the Pharmacist"

Dorothy and Toto replied: "I just use a cheap pair of wire cutters when I need to 'adjust'. I haven't needed a prescription for at least a year now, though. According to recent studies conducted by the Pritikin Longevity Center, diabetes starts from too much fat in the diet and insufficient exercise, not malfunction of the pancreas as previously thought. The pancreas continues to produce insulin when you have diabetes but the body becomes insulin resistant. Research has shown that over 90% of diabetes cases can be TOTALLY CORRECTED with diet and exercise. That means that you don't have to have limbs removed due to diabetes-induced gangrene. You don't have to go blind or suffer cardiovascular abnormalities because of diabetes. You can actually REVERSE some of these conditions with diet (nutrition, not weight loss) and exercise, and the removal of parasites and candida. Watch the 8-minute non-profit video , about diabetes diet. Best of luck."

Has anyone ever used metoclopramide (Reglan, Octamide, Maxolon)? for nausea/vomiting? did you have any side effects? im a bit nervous about the potential to develop irreversible ticks.. :/ im female, not pregnant, i took domperidone for 10 days once and it seemed to send my hormones haywire, on the 10th day i developed even more intense nausea, and i started lactating. i stopped taking it but im still nauseous, worse than before, for an entire month. idk if its caused by the domperidone kicking off my hormones??
