Sony DSC-T9 Lithium Ion Battery Charger? My Sony DSC-T9 Lithium Ion Battery charger blinks a yellow/organe light every time I plug it in. It was fine just a few months ago, and I've had the charger and battery for roughly 2 years. Usually, the light stays yellow then turns green when it is complete charging. Now the light stays on for a couple of seconds and starts to blink again. I went through my manual and it says nothing about the light blinking. Could this mean it's time to replace my charger or battery?

Do you necesserily need to buy a lithium battery charger from the camera's maker? I lost my camera's lithium battery charger (Type G). It's a Sony Cybershot DSC-W30. I recently went to the Sony store to see if they sell the chargers alone. Apparently they do, but for a 100$. Now, counting Ebay out, is there any other way i can buy a charger for this camera & battery type somewhere else for cheaper. If i have to buy the charger from Sony, I might as well buy a new camera, since this one is not in perfect condition. But I really don't want to considering im saving up for a DSLR anyways.

Richard B replied: "It is always better to buy such an accessory from the manufacturer of the device with which it will be used. There is never a guarantee that another manufacturer's accessory will be compatible with your device. Don't buy this stuff on eBay because eBay cannot guarantee anything about things bought/sold through their website."

fhotoace replied: "Yes. The OEM chargers have special features not found on third-party chargers. The will not overcharge the battery which could cause a fire or in the worst case explode. The also condition the battery and usually do a 80% quick charge and then a slow charge until fully charged. Also if your battery fails using a third-party charger, it may not be covered by the camearas warranty. Consider the cost of the charger as insurance."

epic_laydown replied: "that's quite the dilemma you got there. Even paying 43 bucks for a charger is a bit expensive for a camera you'll probably not use after you get your DSLR. Consider a camera that is under 100 dollars which will get you by for the next few months or whatever until you get the new camera. You really need to compare the Sony W30 with a inexpensive camera. Another thing is to borrow someone else's charger, that is if you know someone with the same camera. Or see how much you can get on it on Craigslist."

If i have a sony cyber-shot with a lithium ion np-bg1 battery, would this charger work? heres the charger - im unsure because this ISNT the charger that came with camera (i kinda lost the origional charger) so do you think this would work? thanks! thank you VERY much :)

charging my sony lithium battery? hi, i just got my sony W150 camera for my birthday...the battery just ran out. i am from the philippines, but got my camera from the states. is it ok to plug in the charger in my outlet here? the volts that we use here is 220V - the volts of the charger is 100-240V, can i charge it? i am afraid it might cause a spark (God Forbid :) ) pls help. thanks

Electro715 replied: "Hahaha, my sister had a simalar problem, (she plugged in a blow dryer and the power went out), genaraly you need a power surge/converter, a small plug that has an outlet on the back, but chargers, I dont know... if your that worried about it, here... go to this sight and buy one, or you can go to your nearest electrical store..."

do all SONY batteries work with all sony chargers? I just need to know because i lost my real charger for my lithium battery and now only have a different kind of charger but for the same brand. So do you know?

Tme replied: "Unless you want to blow up! NiCd NiMH and all those other types... If you mix them, you blow up! Get the proper charger for the proper battery! NiCd battery with a NiCd charger! NiMH battery with a NiMH charger! DO NOT PUT NiMH with NiCd vice versa! It is usually written on the battery and charger!"

My SONY video camcorder will not take a charge how do I determine the problem? Lithium battery replaced.? I don't know if the problem is the battery or charger. The camera has been sitting idle for over a year.

How do you charge a Sony Cybershot Li-ion without a charger? I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W80 with the NP-BG1 lithium ion battery. I lost my camera charger and the sony stores don't sell a charger for my specific camera's battery anymore. I was thinking of that thing where you charge an ipod with an onion, and it occurred to me that some genius out there might know a similar solution for camera chargers...anyone???
