Zoloft Rashes Information in Answers
Has anyone developed a rash from Zoloft? I've been taking it for 9 days and last night realised I had a rash over my stomach, chest and upper back. Now this morning it is on my forehead and my skin hurts like hell. Sorry TMI but they are red with little pussy heads. I'll call the doc today, but I feel terrible! They have white heads -yahoo cencored me!

mason p replied: "Well just ask youre doc."

Out of control replied: "My daughter didn't get any type of rash, but everyone is different. Best you are checking with your doctor. Good luck!"

Claire in NYC replied: "Stop taking it immediately. You are having an allergic reaction."

J replied: "no"

Rash with Zoloft? Hi! I have been taking Zoloft for 28 days now. Yesterday I developed a small rash on my face. The bumps are not red, but I can see and feel them. I go back to my doc on Friday, but I was wondering if someone knew what's going on to ease my mind. Thanks!

Started celexa for 5 days and switched to zoloft.? I was on 20mg celexa for 5 days and finally got over the nausea and was feeling great, until I got a rash. My Dr. switched me to 25mg zoloft and I've not felt any side effects at all. Should I up to 50mg or give it some time? Has anyone had any similar experiences?

I have just switch from Celexa 60mg to Zoloft 100mg. Does Zoloft have a side effect of development of a rash? The rash is on face, neck, shoulders, back underside of my arms-mostly upper body. They are pin size with some a little bigger. Couple of them look pussy while others are below the surface of the skin. It's not really itchy except for my face ( around my chinline). It started 10 days after med change and has periodically reappear in other places.

I tried zoloft and got a rash but mentally felt better. Heard of anyone acclimating to it slowly? Is that safe? A friend of mine tried it and got asthma and stopped, but then took tiny doses acclimating himself to it and now it works great! I'd like to try something like this but am concerned that my rash might have been a more severe reaction, and I don't want liver damage. Heard of anyone trying something like this and having any success? I've tried a lot of other drugs and none worked as well. I have ADHD and OCD and can therefore be difficult to treat with medicine. Could such an attempt cause liver damage or even death?

Stephen replied: "The rash might be caused by something completely. Even if its caused by the Zoloft it might resolve so if you feel better and rash isn't getting a whole lot worse taking a small dose and gradually increasing isn't a bad idea. serious liver problems ain't common"

R replied: "I have had the same problem. I originally started taking it 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off for PMDD. But every month I would start to get this rash on my hands and feet. I stopped taking it several months ago, but after trying several other meds that didn't work, I decided to give it a slower acclimation time, just to see if this symptom would fade just the same as the other symptoms have faded. (nauseau, fatigue) assuming that I take it everyday without the breaks. So now I am on my 5th day- 3 days at 25mg and bumped up to 50 the past two. The rash came back on my feet within 24 hours, not bad enough to bother me, so I am still going. So far just a very mild rash on the sides of my feet, which hasn't gotten any worse. Hands are still okay. I know that I have a reaction like this to nickle, so I am assuming that zoloft has something similar in it. I would be very interested in finding out how everything turns out for you; however, please stop if your rash is wide spread or appears to be getting that way, or is bothersome. This can be an indication of a more severe condition known as Stephen Johnson' s Syndrome. To be on the safe side, talk to your doctor, but they will probably advise against what we are talking about. Good luck"

Question about an Allergy to Zoloft So about two weeks ago I started taking Zoloft, 50mg once a day for ten days and then twice a day from then on. About the third day of me taking the meds twice a day, I noticed a rash on small part of my chest as well as my stomach. I called my doctor and they had told me to back down to once a day for my meds. So I did for the next two days. My rash had gotten worse and was told that if it does to just completely stop taking it. So I have and I know its only been a couple of days since I have stopped taking the meds but my rash has now spread all over my stomach and has made its way around to my back. And has gone from a small patch on my chest, that has now covered the area and I woke up this morning seeing that it has now reached my arms. It is the only thing that I had changed, so I know it had to be from the meds. How long will it take for the Zoloft to get out of my system for my rash to go away?

Can you take Stacker2 with Zoloft? It seems to have caused rashes.

hanumaster replied: "you should consult with your doctor"

maigen_obx replied: "You can't just go taking over the counter crap with prescription medicine. Call your doctor. It is possible to kill yourself by accident. I really don't think that diet pills would mix well with an anti-depressant."

Is Anyone Currentlly On Zoloft? Does anyone else suffer from the food dye that is put in the 100 mg tablet of Zoloft than I ? And does anybody know waht the name of the food dye is? I break out in a rash from head to toe with red dots that swell.

zoloft question? i have been on zoloft now since april 2008 and have been having some wierd skin rashes first my skin has a burn feel then it starts itching really bad then bumps appear . it is not all over me just in little patches almost like eczema but doc says it is an allergy. well i have been keeping up with this rash and it comes and goes i called the doc office yesterday and was told just to get off zoloft because it could be what is causing it. i am also having a weird feeling in my left ear like it tightens up but only last for a second are so then goes back to normal. what the heck. anyways i am not taking myself off the zoloft yet. i want to go in and actually see my doc in person not the nurse prac. who told me just to get off zoloft. i am on it for severe anxiety and ocd and feel i may still need it. has anyone ever had anything like this happen to them. i know there are diff meds out there and i have been on lexapro before but it made me very sick.

Jenna replied: "Yes, differently go see your doctor! Never just stop taking medicine there are withdrawal symptoms! I've been on zoloft for 8 years I've never had anything like that happen to me...This is differently some side effect from medication."

Queen of the Dust Mites replied: "I recommend that you see the doctor to find an alternative medication. If they think Zoloft is the problem then you most certainly need to stop taking it. There are other meds out there, you just have to find one you can tolerate."

celexa to zoloft.....? I was on 20mg celexa for 5 days and finally got over the nausea and was feeling great, until I got a rash. My Dr. switched me to 25mg zoloft and I've not felt any side effects at all. Should I up to 50mg or give it some time? Has anyone had any similar experiences?
